Should I use Fresh or frozen Mango?
You can use the one which is available to you. But I prefer fresh mango for my popsicles. I find them to taste fresh, sweet, flavorful, and easy to blend without a higher powdered blender. If frozen mango chunks are easier to find, then use them. I recommend allowing it to thaw a bit at room temperature before using it.
How to cut Mango
1. Wash the mango well to get rid of any dirt.
2. Slice each side just past the seed, about a ¼ inch from the center.
3. Score a grid pattern into the flesh without cutting through the skin.
4. Use a large spoon to detach the flesh from the skin and scoop the cubes out.
What tools or equipment do I need?
This mango recipe is quick to make and easy as well. You don’t need any special equipment or tools. With that being said, if you are going for the look or popsicle image in this recipe, then I recommend this popsicle mold. I prefer this mold because it comes with some popsicles sticks, a cleaning brush, and a funnel. It is easy to unmold; you don’t need to wait or pre-freeze the pops before adding the popsicle sticks.
The popsicle mold shown above comes with pop sticks, but if you like ice lollies like my family, I suggest more popsicle sticks that can last you through the popsicle-making season.
If you want to use frozen mangos without thawing, I recommend a high powdered blender like this Vitamix or this Ninja blender.
